Play It by Ear is a new programme of rehearsed plays available via live audio stream from The Everyman stage to our audiences. We launched Play It by Ear only last week and so far, we have received a great reaction from audiences. The focus of our rehearsed plays series is to platform Irish writing, which includes both new writing and classic.
We have three productions coming up shortly which I am excited to tell you about. We are delighted to see the return of Aidan Dooley this Saturday 24 October in Tom Crean – Antarctic Explorer, a compelling and humorous retelling of the story of the intrepid Antarctic explorer who hailed from Annascaul, in Co. Kerry. Next week, we present a new play called The Four Faced Liar, written by Dr Ger FitzGibbon, who is the former Head of Drama & Theatre Studies at UCC, and is a writer and director. The ‘four faced liar’ is in fact Shandon Steeple, an iconic Cork landmark.
The final rehearsed reading of the month is the darkly chilling playThe Seafarer, by Conor McPherson, directed by John McCarthy.
Attached is a pdf of our brochure, but you may also go to the website for information about all our shows, and how to book: https://everymancork.com/whats-on/
All times are Irish.
Please note: Due to the current pandemic we are releasing our programme only 3 weeks in advance, to allow us to contend with an everchanging environment. But, do please keep in touch as new shows are announced.
