The World of Swift; Swift and his World. A Celebratory Conference

November 24 - November 25

The Irish Studies Research Centre, the Institute of English Studies, and Spechel (The Society for the Popularisation of English Culture and of Hungarian Culture in the English Language Medium) are organizing a conference dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the birth of Jonathan Swift. The conference will be held on 24-25 November 2017, at the University of Pécs. In 2017, we also celebrate the 650th anniversary of Hungary’s first university, founded in Pécs in 1367, which we honour with this professional event, too.
