Dear AEDEI friends,

I am truly pleased to announce, on behalf of the AEDEI Executive Team, the names of the awardees for these two scholarship schemes, named in Eibhear Waslshe’s honour:

– For the modality of Predoctoral Grant, the awardee is Natalia Jiménez, with the Project “Planetary Crisis and Post-Celtic Tiger Ireland: Precarity and Relationality in Sally Rooney’s Fiction”;

– For the modality of Postdoctoral Grant, the awardee is María Auxiliadora Pérez Vides with the Project “Corporality and Institutionalisation in Contemporary Ireland: A Gender-Based Analysis in John Banville’s Crime Fiction”

Our sincere gratitude to the panel experts for their invaluable support in the assessment of the Eibhear Walshe Research Grants. The evaluation committee was impressed by the quality and variety of the applications. Huge congratulations to both Natalia and Auxiliadora; there is no better way to pay homage to our dear friend Eibhear than supporting their top-quality research.

All the best wishes, Pilar (on behalf of the AEDEI Executive Team)
