International Seminar on Irish Studies (University of Granada)

Dear AEDEI members,

Once again, the Irish Studies Circle at the University of Granada is pleased to organize the International Seminar on Irish Studies (26-30 January 2026). In this ninth edition, we continue celebrating the richness of Irish culture: its literature, music, film, and history, presented by exceptional voices and artists.

The Program features literary readings by poet Gerry Murphy and writers Mary O’Donnell and Katherine O’Donnell. We will also be joined by keynote speakers of great renown in the Irish academic field.

As in previous years, there is a rich program featuring music and dance. We will enjoy a vibrant performance by the Céilí Band of the University of Granada, accompanied by two concerts: Four Star Trio and Dermy & Tara Diamonde. We will also offer an introductory workshop to the Irish language and another on traditional dance.

With the aim of fostering interest in Irish studies and showcasing emerging research, several roundtables will be held with postgraduate students.

A certificate of attendance will be awarded for 20 hours. We encourage you to share this information with your students.
